| WOW! Twelve hundred conference folders each stuffed with 15 inserts...in just over an hour! Amazing! Thanks to all my teenage peeps who care so much for their youth pastor that they gave of their time to help me out. It cost me 9 pizzas, pop, snacks, and ice cream sandwiches but it was worth it. Only 8 more Sundays at HHBC and only one more communion service. These weeks are going to fly by. We are on week three in the sale of our home. We are trusting God that our house will sell soon so we can start looking in Ohio. Lots to do in a very short period of time...seminary work, ordination papers, youth staff meetings, summer planning, etc. | | |
| In God's providence, we have resigned from our position at HHBC and have accepted the call to be the Assoc. Pastor of Youth and Spiritual Development at Trinity EV Free church in Amherst, Ohio. Due to the necessity of tying up loose ends, our last Sunday will be April 29 and our anticipated start date in Ohio is June 1. We find ourselves both excited and saddened at the same time. We are leaving people we dearly love but yet beginning an exciting ministry with wonderful people. I believe God has uniquely prepared us for this next ministry and we look forward to how God is going to use Trinity to sharpen us and how God will use us to minister to them. To the teens of HHBC - we love you so much and we will forever cherish the memories. Let's use these next few months to grow closer to God and move forward as a ministry. To the teens and staff of Trinity EV Free - we are praying for you and look forward to building relationships with you and being your shepherd. God continues to prove himself faithful to us, and His promise to His church rings louder today than ever - "I will build My church and the gates of hell willnot prevail against her." | | |
| Sorry peeps. It has been way too long since I last wrote. Here are a few updates on us ... 1. My wife is babysitting for extra funds 2. Son #2 is doing touch point math and doing well 3. Son #1 is proving to be a true woodsman 4. Daughter #1 decorated her room in horses 5. Daughter #2 is non stop talking and is infatuatedwith doing her nails 6. I am four months away from graduating with my M.Div Anyway, we are alive and well. More soon. | | |
| That's right, Coe fans...three semesters to go. I took my Hebrew final today and that wraps up another chapter in the educational mantra of my life. So I am free... at least for a week and a half before I start the summer semester - sheesh! I have two classes this summer - Old Testament 1 and Homiletics 1. I hope to finish both by the end of June.
Fam is well - the boys are swinging the bats and the girls are strapping on leotards and pretending to be Dominic Daws. Anyway, my third child just asked Jesus to forgive her sins and asked Him to be the boss of her life. How cool is that! My oldest son was so happy for her. With a big smile on his face he said, "Well, mom, three down and one to go".
My wife is running in the Fifth-Third and I will be cheering her on from the sidelines with my 12-pack of cherry Coke and a bag of potato chips. She exercises for the two of us - I lose weight just watching her.
Well - since I am free from school for a little while, I better do something constructive. Like finishing the first season of LOST on DVD.
I'm out! | | |
| Today is my last Hebrew quiz - I see the end in sight. Here's a rundown of what's left... next Tuesday is Hebrew Vocab Final...next Friday is NT2 Research Paper and 30 minute oral presentation...the following Monday is Hebrew Grammar Final...and lastly a 15 minute oral exam for NT2. A lot packed into the next week and a half, but we'll make it.
I trust all is well with the teens of HHBC! One student cxalled yesterday and asked that I be her "project expert" and come to her school to help with her presentation. What a joy - I am excited about this opportunity. Thanks for the privilege, my rednek friend!
Seniors - we are counting down ... around 20 days or so. Finish strong! I am looking forward to seeing how God uses you in the future.
Well, my boys are in full-swing (literally) with baseball so we are spending major time on the ball diamonds this month. I can't wait for the day that I start umpiring baseball - just one of my fleshly cravings that I would like to do on this earth, but plan to do for all eternity on the new one.
See ya - I'm out to take a quiz! | | |
